ONGI ETORRI!Welcome to the website of the Oinkari Basque Dancers National Basque Festival, Elko Nevada - July 5 & 6, 2008Oinkari Basque Dancers will be heading to Elko, Nevada for the 4th of July weekend to celebrate the National Basque Festival. This two day event will feature dancers from all over the west, as well as a dance with live music by Boise's own Amuma Says No, whose lead singer, Jill Aldape, is a member of our group! 2008 National Folklife Festival - July 11-13, 2008One of the country’s largest and most prestigious celebrations of the arts, the National Folk Festival, is taking place in Butte, Montana for a three-year tenure and Oinkari Basque Dancers will be attending the event. First presented in 1934, it is the oldest multicultural festival in the nation. Oinkariak attended the festival many years ago when some of our current member's parents were in the group. We are very excited to be part of such a tradition. Look for photos to be posted as soon as we return. San Iñazio Basque Festival - July 25-27, 2008The San Inazio Festival is an annual event to honor St. Ignatius of Loyola, the patron saint of the Basques. This annual festival brings Basque music, games, dancing and foods to the streets of Boise. During this festival, visitors from around the world travel to Boise to attend this celebration. Oinkari 50th Anniversary2010 will mark the year of the Oinkari - the 50th Anniversary! Oinkari Alumni are currently trying to get as much information as possible from former dancers in the group to put together a huge 50th Anniversary Celebration. All dancers, old and new are asked to sign up here. We want to have an accurate list of all the dancers throughout the 50 incredible years of Oinkari .
